PrintrBot Simple

We have retired this printer, due to it's all-too-flexible wood frame. In 2015, it was originally a gift to my Father where I pooled family funds on Father's Day. It is a small printer, featuring only a 6x6x8inch build volume, it is very outdated compared to the tools we have today. Although, back in 2015 there weren't very many 3D printing solutions and in it's peak we were able to achieve a lot with it. Eventually my Father had to work out-of-state and this Printer is what got me hooked into 3D printing. Since it was my first, there were very many headaches but also a lot of successes.

Nearing The End

This Printer was very old by the time we had decided to retire it, although it works just fine it is probably the most troublesome piece of equiptment in the arensal. It requires the front end to be bolted down with a C-clamp or something similiar to prevent it from jumping around on the table or off the table completely. Due to it's nature, it is a very entry-level 3D printer due to it's ability to be upgraded by itself, although there are many many other printers to be recommended beyond this one.

Ubis Hotend

The Ubis hotend is really cool. We were having extruding issues that put everything to a halt and we were unable to print with the stock hotend. With a maximum temperature of 270°F you're able to achieve much more with this hotend. This has only had less than a handful of jams in the years we have had it hooked up and running.

Bearings

These bearings are admittedly goofy. They get the job done and is the best way we could come up with to install aftermarket bearings with the least amount of "play".
