Sean made an instant impact after being drafted fifth overall in the 2004 draft. Sean finished his rookie season with seventy-eight tackles and led the team in interceptions with four.
The following season Sean had similar success. Unfortunately, his "bad boy" image was born. He was fined multiple times for uniform violations and was ejected in the '05-'06 Wild Card game for spitting at Buccaneers running back Michael Pittman. Also, Sean was arrested in Viginia for a DUI. The case was dropped after the judge determined there was a lack of evidence that Taylor was intoxicated.
The 2006 season was a breakout season for Sean. He led the Redskins in tackles with an amazing number of 114. Sean's presense on the field was felt most when it mattered the most. Sean's clutch interception against the Carolina Panthers helped the Redskins win their fourth game of the season. Even though the Redskins didn't make the playoffs, Sean was invited to play in the Pro Bowl (first and only appearance). Taylor had a bone-crushing hit on opposing punter Brian Moorman that made Youtube stardom and was ESPN's number one play of the week.
The 2007 season was Sean's final season in the NFL. Sean's teammates said that they noticed a huge change in Taylor. He became more vocal, a lot more positive, and took on the role of a leader. Up to the time of his death before week thirteen, Sean led the NFC in interceptions despite missing two games to a knee injury. In his honor, he was unanimously elected to the Pro Bowl as a started for the NFC.
