After your drive, depending on your distance to the basket you might reach for a mid range disc. "But wait, don't you want a driver all the time to get the most distance?" That is not entirely always the case. If you always use a driver for every shot you run the chance of over shooting your target. You don't bring a Sledge-hammer to heart surgery. It's all about having the right tool for the task. This is again because every disc has its' own flight patterns.
The bottom disc is a Driver, The middle is a Mid, and the top disc is a Putter.
The flight chart below is an example of the patterns that discs will follow. Now you may have noticed that the is a section called fairway drivers, and those are the mid range discs. In the chart there is also a section called flight paths. These flight paths tend to be for right handed throwing. If you are a lefty like myself the patterns are reversed. There is a lot that could be covered but the best way is to try it out yourself.
