The Genovese Crime Family was founded by Lucky Luciano and was renamed in 1957 by then boss Vito Genovese. The Genovese family has been nicknamed the "Ivy League" and "Rolls Royce" of organized crime. They appear to be the most organized and powerful of the Five Families.

Today, Daniel Leo is believed to be the acting boss of the family.
