When feeding your Great Dane, considerations should be given to the style of feeding, for example, kibble, canned, or raw.
Nutritional quality of the food you choose is very, very, very important. A quality, natural premium dog food or raw dog food diet and the way you feed it is extremely important!

Don't overlook the basics. Remember to have the "quiet time" before and after meals to help reduce the chances of bloat. You also need to use an elevated dog feeder (like the one to the left) to lessen the risk of digestive issues. An elevated feeder will grow with your Dane. Many are many different kinds of feeders. Some are made of metal and some are made of wood. The wooden feeders have a tendency to harbor bacteria and get moldy over time due to water being spilt over it.

It is crutial to "grow your Dane slow", slow steady growth is the key to proper development!

Proper protine levels are a must when feeding your Dane. This will help avoid possible health problems such as Pano and Wobblers Syndrome.
Lite and lean is the general rule of thumb until about age 2. Your Dane will grow naturally and reach its full potential around age 3.

Never feed your Great Dane puppy food!
Feeding your Great Dane puppy food can have serious consequences. The protine and fat levels in most puppy foods are way to high for your growing Dane.
