The Greatsword is a weapon of great power and durability. It has the longest blade of all swords that the knights used and it has the most destructability of most weapons of that time. These Greatswords were long, heavy and used to break through the guard of any enemy that came up against them. They were held with two hands so no shield could be used with it so it was mostly used for offence over defence. But don't underestimate the defencive capabilities of this sword. Given it's heavy weight and long blade, it was used to easily deflect small, lighter blades and to completely destroy wooden shields or light metal sheilds.
