Located on the northwest edge of Lonsdale, Minnesota you'll find the facilities of Double "D" Towing and the Home Oil Co. Though officially two businesses they are run together by Donnie Smisek, a life long resident of Lonsdale.

Home Oil Co. has roots dating back to its opening in 1940. That successful business was purchased by Don Smisek Sr. in 1963 which then continued a multi-decade commitment to serving the community of Lonsdale and the surrounding area. At that time the company was your basic service station that also offered automotive repair and fuel oil delivery for home heating. In 1967 Home Oil Co. expanded its business to include towing services. In 1994, as fuel oil usage decreased in this area the Smiseks, in continuing service to the community, began selling and delivering Propane and Propane Tanks. Also in 1994, Don Jr. (Donnie) bought the towing business from his dad and named it Double "D" for him and his wife Denise.

Donnie fondly remembers back to the old days when they used tow trucks that didn't have heat in the winter or A/C in the summer. Whatever it took to get the job done, including bearing the heat and cold, was the way business was done. Today, Double "D" Towing runs modern equipment that not only gets the job done but also takes into consideration the comfort and convenience of their customers. Even Don Sr. agrees that a heated place to sit for their customers in the dead of winter is a good thing.

The Smisek Family's commitment and service to the greater Lonsdale area has spanned 5 decades and we look forward to serving you for decades to come.
