There are the relaxation islands and the exploring islands. You have the option to choose. Here are the following Hawaiian islands and the descriptions of each.
Ni'ihau | This island is privately owned and is forbidden. It is the home of approximately 250 native Hawaiians. It is the smallest populated Hawaiian Island. |
Kaua'i | Known as the "Island of Discovery." This is Hawaiian's oldest island. A trip around is a feast of green, tropical forests, cascading waterfalls, and golden sand beaches. |
O'ahu | Known as "The Heart of Hawaii." This is the home to historic Honolulu, exciting Waikiki, legendary North shore, Pearl Harbor, and much more to enjoy! |
Moloka'i | Known as "Hawaiian by Nature." The roads are few and generally empty. Isn't a lovely island, the only island for those who want to experience something besides the commercial luau, fancy shops, big resorts, and the company of tourists. |
Lana'i | Known as "Hawaii's most Exclusive Island." This island is the perfect getaway that includes ultra luxury and secluded privacy. The population only runs about 3,000. |
Maui | Known as "The Magic Isle." This island has near-perfect weather, great places to stay, and uncrawled beaches. It has both adventure and new experiences. The whale-filled seas meet the heavenly beaches. |
Kaho'olawe | On the onset of WWII, U.S. Government confiscated this island for use as a bombing target until 1990. Clean-up efforts are still going. |
Hawaii-The Big Island | On this island, the spirit and energy of creation surrounds you. Still warm from its fiery birth. Larger than twice the size than its sisters combined and growing everyday from its active volcano, Kilauea. |
