Southeast Asia has the oldest rainforests and consistent rainforests on Earth. Dating back 70 million years to the Pleistoene Epoch. These rainforests has biological richess and diversity unqwualed by the Amazon or African rainforests. Even so, Southeast Asia is losing its forests faster than any equatorial region having fewer remaining primary rainforests. It is estimated that most of its primary rainforests will be destroyed within 10 years. Hundreds of animals and plant species are on the brink of extinction. The endangered two-horned Sumatran rhinoceros, Sumatran tiger and its cousin Javan tiger, and the Asian elephant to name a few.
