- Normally a sleepy town on the edge of the Black Hills, Sturgis is famous for the world’s largest motorcycle rally, held annually in the first week of August.
- Usually, the rally has more than 400,000 people in attendace each of the past several years. Next year, the rally will have its 75th anniversary.
- Many people from all over the world come to be a part of the rally, a good bit of them may not even be bikers. It is a huge diversed crowd of partiers or people just having fun.
- There is more than Motorcycles to Sturgis. The legendary Main Street and its mining era buildings including historic Fort Meade. You can also try out the bike and jogging trails.
One thing to check out is a view of four states from nearby Bear Butte Summit Trail. The scenery is so breath-taking there and all around the area.
- There are plenty of restaurants, bars, and casinos in the area including Full Throttle Saloon, Loud American Roadhouse, and others.
- The city of Sturgis is right off of Interstate Highway 90, so it is not easy to miss in the wonderful terrain of the black hills.
