Blacksmithing is an art form, a hobby, a profession, and a receding art. The people with the ability to heat metal to a near molten temperatures and then form it to their will into some sort of tool or a piece of artwork are known as blacksmiths. This ability work the black metals of iron and steel is has been passed down from generation to generation from master to apprentice for years. However the number of apprentices receding quite rapidly and has been for the past several decades. Finding a blacksmith in todays world is a whole lot harder than it would have been in the eighteenth century. In a world where everyting is machine made most people don't have a use for blacksmiths and it has become more of a hobby than an actual profession. However there are people here and there that make their living through working metal. |
