Rules

• Before the game even starts, each player rolls a randomized die to determine who will go first
• Each player's life total begins at 20
• Each player shuffles their deck and draws seven cards
• There can be no more than 4 of each card in a deck unless it is a basic land

How to play

There are 5 different phases in Magic the Gathering

1. The Begining Phase

   This consist of 3 different parts

   • Untap Step
   • Upkeep Step
   • Draw Step


2. The Main Phase

   This is where players play certain cards such as creatures, sorcery spells, enchantment, and artifact spells.

3. Combat Phase

   This is the attacking phase. Whichever players turn it is can choose to either attack with certain creatures or play defense and keep them back.
   The opposing player can choose to block certain creatures if they have anything in play.

4. Second Main Phase

   This is the same as the first main phase. It just happens after the Combat Phase.

5. The Ending Phase
   • End Step

   This is where players have a chance to cast anymore spells before the end of the turn.

   • Cleanup Step

   This is when all abilities of spells resolve and everything is "cleaned up".
